Focus on events happened in last six months

Prashanth Kumar Chiguru, currently working for The Asahi Shimbun in South Asia Bureau as Correspondent. Before that I Interned with The Hindu in New Delhi Bureau.

All the best for the aspirants who are appearing for IIMC entrance examination. I have appeared for the test in 2009 for English Journalism. It is simply test unlike other competitive exams, No need to be terrified much or get frightened with test and the Interview.

For English Journalism, candidates need to be updated on Current affairs particularly events happened in last six months. I only recommend to read only The Hindu newspaper, as it provides Information very precise and comprehensive.

Apart from that try to practice writing by observing the news articles especially the Intro Part. Don’t be verbose, avoid writing long sentences and presentation should be in simple and fair language.

In essay section, this time I expect questions related to Koodankulam Nuclear Plant and Anti-Nuclear struggle, Indo-Pak relations (Post Osama Death and recent Hafiz saeed Controversy), BRICS summit, Persecution of Tamils in Srilanka and UNHRC Geneva resolution, Emergence of Social Media and Internet Censorship by Indian Government, Importance and Relevance of Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Blogs etc) in related to Social Revolution’s and Mass Movements (Arab Spring and Team Anna Movement), 2G scam and its impact on UPA-II, Recent Assembly election in Five Indian states and the key role of regional parties in upcoming Presidential elections.

To refresh your minds, I suggest the aspirant to go through Competition Success Review Magazine( last six months issues).
