India just witnessed general elections and the historic win
is one of the most memorable. Such a victory is also very significant for the
entrance examinations as the paper might have questions related to the
elections, your analysis on some significant candidates and their
constituencies. Moreover the campaigning of Narendra Modi is also an important
topic for the exam. Role of social media in the elections, digital campaigning
of BJP, AAP and Congress are also important topics which should be studied.
Other than elections topics like Telangana (a brief history
and the pros and cons of dividing Andhra Pradesh), Supreme Court's ruling on
"The Third Sex", LGBT in India, Coverage of Muzaffarnagar riots (the
riots on the whole and the steps taken by the government), Tarun Tejpal (
Tehelka of Thelka :D), Assembly Elections in the 5 states(Chattisgarh, Madhya
Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi and Mizoram), Sahara-SEBI Case, Crimea Issue and most
importantly the election coverage by media, like assume the question can be Do
you Feel media covered the elections responsibly?
Remember one thing, be very clear in what you write, take a
stand and do not confuse the examiner. Put in as many facts in the answer but
yes the facts should be very correct. Also do not play with numbers like if you
don't remember the exact date or figure it would be very safe to add approx
before the particular figure or date (it saves you from the danger).
As I have already mentioned in the first paragraph that do
note the names of important personalities who made news in the recent past, as
it is one of the most scoring section in the entire paper. Do not exceed the
word limit (most important).
All the Best to all of you. Hope to see you soon in the
campus. :)
