Since I had written about the preparations last year too,
this year I intend to keep my write up short and sweet. You can check my last
blogs here.
Read at least one newspaper thoroughly, more you read the better it is, however at least one newspaper is compulsory. And yes don’t join any coaching classes. They aren’t necessary at all.
Reading newspapers, and keeping abreast with the current
affairs is a must to crack IIMC entrance, and do continue with the habit, even
when you land here.
Elections and campaigning was the big thing of the last
year, so do expect questions on these lines this year. For e.g. you could be
asked, did Narendra Modi do the right thing by starting campaign so early? Now
since all of us have seen the result of it, don’t fear to write your opinion
even if it is contradictory to what the results have been. After all IIMC
expects you to have the thought of your own and not going according to the
flow.
Also do keep the track of other events happened during last
one year, like food security bill, emergence of AAP in Delhi etc.
Though I wasn’t an AD/PR student and didn’t appear for that
exam still I would like to give a tip to the prospective students.
You should know the one liners, ad campaigns used by the
political parties in this election season. You could be asked about the
differences between BJP’s ‘India Shining’ and ‘अच्छे दिन
आनेवाले है’ campaigns. Know the persons behind these campaigns.
Let me assure you that these are going to be the best 9
months of your life at IIMC and you would cherish these memories for the
lifetime.
You can contact me on krrishjune@gmail.com for any further
queries.
Good luck !!
