You certainly have questions in your mind for dealing with GD or PI, once you have made it to the written test at IIMC.  In my experience, there is no set pattern for cracking any GD/PI. Yes! There are five factors which are useful to perform better. I am really convinced by these factors which are involved to bring successful outcomes.

Set Your Goal
You must set your goal. A Life without goal is a body without soul.  Setting your goal means you have set rules, planning, objectives to achieve your goal which sums up a discipline in a life. You might be asked “What’s next after Journalism?” or “Why Journalism?” If you are clueless, it proves you have not set your goals yet and many doubts are arisen on your future performances. IIMC is known for providing the best professionals to the respective industries, that’s why, Panel or Interviewer has the great responsibility to strengthen the institute by selecting the best candidate.

Have Positive Thinking
Positive thinking tells interviewer/panel that what kind of personality and thought process you do have? There are chances that you might be a part of a team to achieve a set-goal during your course at IIMC. If you have a positive personality, there will be a good team work and you will come out of any hurdle.

Believe In Yourself
It leads to the trust and trust leads to the confidence.  Your goals are set, you have positive thinking too, instead of these two factors, if you don’t believe in yourself, it will tell the panel/interviewer that you are not confident for what you are going to do.  You should have the in-depth knowledge of the topic which is going to be discussed.  If you won’t have the in-depth knowledge, you won’t believe in yourself and you won’t be confident enough while participating in the GD.

Being an entrepreneur, I have been involved in hiring and interviewing professionals. To me, there are two factors which contribute best points to bring successful outcomes. If you work on these two factors, you won’t make silly mistakes or put wrong impressions over any interviewer.

Know Yourself
He who knows others is learned, but the wise one is the one who knows himself. You should know where you are going in terms of your career. It is not great to know so much but you should know in what direction you are moving. Don’t take a potshot to get into IIMC. Your answers tell the interviewer that how much you are involved with in yourself to move in a right direction.

Most of the questions are based on the details which you might have provided to the interviewer. There should not be any break in the chain of your details like work experience (If any), education, interests and likings.  There should be a well connected time line. This gives a very good impression to the interviewer at the first place, and your half work is done.  The best way to stay away from errors is to anticipate them. LinkedIn is a good tool to work out on this part. Share your LinkedIn profile with your friends and ask them whether they got confused while going through your profile or they have questions? If yes, then you probably know from which part of your profile the interviewer is going to be confused or going to ask the question?

Ask Questions
Many times, Interviewer asks in the end “Do you have any questions?” The average candidate does not care about this question but great candidate does care! Great candidate wants to know what the institute and the interviewer is looking for. Sometimes, the interviewer wants to hear from its candidate too. They want to know whether you have actively evaluated the industry in which an institute like IIMC is training its students.

In the end, I congratulate those who have got through written exam and all the best to the same. I request to those who have not got through that don’t get disheartened. Success comes after the failure but you must learn from your failures. Our future is not always built on success, it is also built on failures

Hello dada! I have been selected for EJ at Dhenkanal campus of IIMC. As I have no idea about Dhenkanal could you just guide me through by telling me the cost of living at hostel, internships and placement opportunities at this campus since I am not getting any answer to satisfaction when all these notes of interrogation count.
